Another Use for Junk Mail

I recently discovered something to make with junk mail... snowflakes!  That's what I did over the weekend.  It feels good to make something beautiful of all that extra paper that would otherwise be thrown away!

Many thanks to Michelle of Michelle Made Me for the idea and the awesome tutorial.  I had completely forgotten how to make snowflakes.  So this tutorial is appreciated :)

The snowflakes are now taped to my windows.  The colors really show when the sun shines through them.   I could look at them all day!

Yay for recycling! I made tassel garlands from chip packets and old sewing patterns http://sisteroutlaws.blogspot.com.au/2012/12/keeping-christmas-eco-tassel-garland.html

Colored snowflakes are surprisingly beautiful. Have you ever looked at the insides of security envelopes? I might try this with those. Not so colorful, but interesting patterns.

Popped over from Tatortots blog.

These are really cool. I will have to do this with my kids at school.

You are talented! The last time I tried to make snowflakes the pattern was not impressive, these are. The colors of the paper really adds life to them. Maybe you could show us one of your snowflake patterns...
